Why Save the California Tiger Salamander?
The California Tiger Salamander is an endemic species to California and is a major part of the state’s natural heritage. With its unique tiger-like spotting, this salamander ranges from the eastern foothills of the Sierra Nevada to the west outer coast, and from Sonoma County to Santa Barbara (California Tiger Salamander, 2012). If this critically endangered salamander goes extinct, we will lose another stitch in the beautiful and diverse quilt fabricated by California’s species.
