Many of the California Tiger Salamander mitigation sites are near residential and commercial development areas. “Homes in close proximity to mitigation sites should be more valuable than homes that are not.” (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 2005) This is because critical habitat areas are highly valuable making the homes near these areas more valuable. Therefore, homeowners and their realtors can increase their profit in the event of selling their property.
